*Of students blogging*

I've long been aware of students having online blogs/journals. If teachers can write, why not their students? Anyone who has access to a computer and Internet are able to set up their own personal sites. (I even know of some grandparents who blog on a daily basis.)

I do read blogs belonging to some students. One of them had posted about a colleague of mine (who happens to be part of the management) and had described the latter in an unflattering manner. Suffice to say, the owner of the said blog received comments from peers and friends alike with regards to the said post, more specifically, to be aware of the content before posting it.

Personally, it's good to be responsible for whatever content that you write but I wouldn't rat on this particular student. The blog is public for all to see and whatever students do outside of school that do not break the law nor harm themselves and others around them, are not my business.

I think if the posts start to become really racist or reek of bigotry, then it would be time to step in and take action.

But then again, it all depends right?
